MCP tool reference

Every tool Growi’s MCP server offers, and which roles can use it.

Growi’s MCP server lives at POST https://api.growi.io/mcp. Clients list its tools when they connect, so you never call these by hand. This page tells you what Claude can look up and change for you. To connect, see Connect Claude to Growi.

How it works

• Transport. Stateless Streamable HTTP: one JSON-RPC request per POST, plain JSON responses, no sessions. GET /mcp returns 405.
• Auth. A Growi API key as a bearer token, or a sign-in through claude.ai or ChatGPT (OAuth). What a key can do follows the role of the person it belongs to, checked again on every call. A viewer key never writes.
• Scope. One organization, plus its child brands for a parent organization, the same as the REST API.
• Limits. 60 units a minute and 1,000 an hour per key, separate from the REST API. A read costs 1 unit, a change 3 and a heavy report 5.
• Formats. Money is integer cents in your organization’s currency (*_cents), dates are YYYY-MM-DD, and list tools take page and per_page (up to 100) and return meta.has_more.

These need a key tied to a person (any key created while signed in, or a claude.ai sign-in).

Owners and admins only

Customer data, masked: list_creator_sales, get_order_journey, list_creator_referrers, search_shopify_schema, query_shopify_admin (read-only Shopify queries) and get_organization_balance.

Fraud checks: get_shopify_fraud_report, get_creator_fraud_dossier and generate_shopify_fraud_report.

Campaign and creator changes: commission and tier rates, milestone and per-post bonuses, payout delay, views payout, names and descriptions, contract templates, tracking and attribution settings, social channels, Discord, content submissions, free sample products, discount settings, approving or denying applications, adding and removing creators, attributing videos, refunding your remaining balance and changing an invoice’s payment method.

Claude previews every change before making it. Changes that move money or remove data need a confirmation that works once and expires after 10 minutes. Every change is logged with who asked for it.
