# Dates, money and errors

> The formats every endpoint uses for dates, pagination, money and errors.

## Dates

New endpoints (content analytics, stores, Shopify, mobile apps, Meta ads performance
and payouts) take and return ISO 8601:

* Dates are `YYYY-MM-DD`, for example `start_date=2026-10-01&end_date=2026-10-31`.
  Both ends are included, and days are UTC.
* Timestamps are ISO 8601 with a time zone, for example `2026-10-31T18:04:11Z`.

> [!WARNING]
>
> The [deprecated stats endpoints](https://growi.mintlify.site/api-reference/changelog.md#deprecations) take
> `MM/DD/YYYY` and some return `MM/DD/YYYY` strings. Switch to ISO dates when you
> move to the new endpoints.

## Pagination

List endpoints take `page` (from 1) and `per_page`, and return a `meta` object with
the current page and whether there are more (`has_more`, or `page_count` on older
endpoints). Each endpoint's reference states its maximum `per_page`.

## Money

Each endpoint's reference says whether an amount is a number in the currency's major
unit, integer cents (fields ending in `_cents`) or a formatted string, and which
currency field goes with it. Don't assume USD: amounts are in your organization's
currency.

## Errors

Errors return a non-2xx status and a JSON body with an `error` message:

```json theme={"dark"}
{ "error": "Missing required parameter(s): start_date, end_date" }
```

| Status | Meaning |
| - | - |
| `401` | Missing or invalid API key |
| `403` | A read-only (viewer) key sent a write |
| `404` | The record doesn't exist or isn't yours |
| `422` | Missing or invalid params, or the action isn't allowed in the record's current state |
| `429` | [Rate limited](https://growi.mintlify.site/api-reference/rate-limits.md). Wait for `Retry-After` |
| `5xx` | Something failed on our side. Retry with backoff, and email [info@growi.io](mailto:info@growi.io) if it keeps happening |
